Ah, life is good...

We worked inside today. I'm glad. It was tiring working in the snow. After three weeks of it I was ready to get inside. So, we worked on a kitchen. There was some existing trim work to be removed and/or cut to proper length. Then we had to rewire the kitchen. That was fun. I wasn't sure I was going to be much help, but it turned out to be quite worth the effort. We had to snake alot of wiring through the kitchen walls/ceiling and to the breakerbox in the basement. Now we are to the point of drywalling. It got pretty messy too.

I hope I get paid on Friday. And I hope I can open a bank account here before the banks close on friday, but after work. We'll see. I need to pay back 3 people who covered my buy-ins for 5 poker games. I haven't been able to get any cash (see previous post).

On a random note, my friend, Kelly, is moving to Boston. She's going to be working for The Boston Project. An inner-city ministry in...Boston.

I need to fold my laundry and go home to bed. So...

Why do we fear? I really like working with Johny O. and Aaron but I am having issues with heights. I can get on ladders and have even walked on walls. But when I got on the roof of the garage I got scared. Honestly, I wasn't scared because of the hieght of it. I was more scared because I couldn't get good footing. I think my boots have crappy soles on them. The slope wasn't too extreme up there but it was wet from snow and my feet kept flipping. I just stayed on the skidplate until I could get to the ladder to get down. Johny O. had to be there on the ladder to keep me from skidding off the roof. I couldn't get traction with my freakin' boots. It frustrated me to no end. It made me very nervous b/c I couldn't trust my footing. It's not like I wasn't trying. I got up there. I was on the roof. I attempted several times to walk up there. But I just kept sliding. And since we've been doing mostly roof work since I've started I haven't been able to do much to help. I've done most of the cutting on the ground and then I hand them the pieces.

I need to open a new bank account. I thought my current bank was a national branch kind-of-deal, but there are none up here. I can't open a new account until I get my first check. Until then all I can do for money is use my checkcard as a creditcard. Because the checkcard is out-of-state I can't use it at any of the ATM's. No cash, just charges. Too bad no-one accepts credit where I play poker.

Sup dudes and Dudettes?! It's been awhile. I know I know. You're all worried sick about me...Oh, who am I kidding? I'm only talking to Walker and Ashley. I don't think anyone else really reads this thing. If they did, it would be nice if they used my tagboard. It's there for my peeps and I to conjigate...I mean conversate.

The drive back to Nuevo York was really fun. It took 15 hours. 9 on Thursay and 6 on Friday. I spent more on the hotel room than I did on gas for the whole trip. I only spent $74 on gas. Also, the most scenic state during the whole trip was definately Virginia. It was fun driving through the Applachian Mountains.

So, I'm staying with Eric until I find my own place. When I get it I'd like a roommate too. Actually, I could see myself staying at Eric's place but I would have to have my own room. A place to unpack my stuff. Right now most of my stuff is still in my car and my clothes stay in the suitecase in the closet. There's no room for me to settle in. That's the only reason why I'm looking elsewhere. If I find a place with a good location and nice price, Karsten may be interested in being my roommate. Also, I found out about a guy in ByGrace who is looking for a roommate. I sent him an email. If it's a nice place, it's cheap enough, and if that guy is nice enough I could see that working out. Either way, things are moving along nicely.

I started working with Aaron and Johny O. on Monday. I am really looking forward to learning more. I like this job. It brings me joy. And I'm getting over my heights issue. It's really the onlt thing that might hinder my ability to perform well with Aaron and John.

We might get 3 feet of snow today. I know we are getting at leat 2 feet today.

Yay! I'm flying to MS to get my car tommorow. Then I drive back to Atlanta. If I leave early enough on Sunday I can make it back to Leroy's place for his Super Bowl party. His family always does a good job hosting parties. It should be fun. If his prediction is correct it will be another cold Super Bowl party. The past few years have been cold ones on SB Sunday. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. Leroy puts a big TV outside to watch the game. There's one inside too, for the thin-blooded folk. J/K

I have an appointment on Monday with my councelor. I will be able to drive there on my own. No borrowing a car required. Yay!

The timing of this trip is working out well. I go to the MY banquet tonight. Leave tomoroow to get my car. Come back Sunday, go to the SB party. Monday I go to counceling. Say my goodbyes and go back to Albany. And I make it there before Spina's birthday. Wow! Talk about good timing.

I'm feelin' pretty good about life : P
