God and I need some time alone. i need to readjust my lifestyle before i go to my (mission year). it comes at the sacrifice of my friends. i want to be with them. alot. but it won't work unless i do this. i need to be alone, until God says different.

ok, in my blog friday i talked about waiting to hear from Mission Year about being accepted. well, after i got home on friday there was a message saying that i was accepted. so, i am going to mission year. now, i'm waiting for them to send me some information on what to bring to my city, how to raise support, and there are a few forms to fill out so they can pick the right city to send me to.
i'm planning on selling my stuff. i don't know how it's going to work out but i trust God will provide a way. there's only around 40 days before i go to my city.

I GOT BACK IN TOUCH WITH THE PEEPS FROM MISSION YEAR. THEY ASKED A QUESTION OR TWO ABOUT SOME STUFF. NOTHING TOO BIG. IT JUST MADE ME REALIZE HOW OVERWHELMING MISSION YEAR MAY AND PROBABLY WILL BE. I WAS ASKED ABOUT MY PREVIOUS ANXIETY ATTACKS. (IF I'M ACCEPTED) THEY WANTED TO HAVE A PLAN IN CASE I HAD AN ANXIETY ATTACK WHILE I WAS THERE. AND I WAS TOLD THAT PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE HAS A POINT WHERE THERE'S SO MUCH OVERWHELMING YOU THAT YOU EITHER QUIT OR HAVE TO FORCE YOURSELF TO KEEP GOING. NOW THAT'S INTENSE!
I SHOULD KNOW IF I'M ACCEPTED BY EARLY NEXT WEEK. KEEP ME IN PRAYER.
I WAS BLESSED WITH SOME EXTRA MONEY. I KNOW MOST OF IT IS GOING TOWARDS MISSION YEAR (IF I GO). THE OTHER PORTION IS GOING TO GO TOWARDS POKER. I'M TURNING INTO SUCH A GAMBLER.
A TESTIMONY: GOD ANSWERED A PRAYER I HAD. I WANTED TO FIND SOMEONE TO TALK TO WHO HAS SIMILAR QUALITIES AND INTERESTS AS MYSELF. I'VE BEEN TALKING WITH SOMEONE LATELY. I LIKE THE FACT THAT OUR CONVERSATIONS INVOLVE GOD IN SOME WAY. THERE'S MORE THIS STORY, AND IT'S ALL IN GOD'S HANDS. I JUST THANK HIM THAT HE ANSWERED THAT PRAYER.

first, buddyroe stock, then mission year interview.
I'd like to explain what a buddyroe is first. The term buddyroe came from the Dukes of Hazzard. My friend Luke and his brother heard the poeple on the show once say "Hey, Buddyroe!" Apparently they liked that phrase and decided to use it themselves.
So try to picture this...Four brothers and a few friends sitting around calling each other "buddyroe". They're kind of bored so they decide to go outside to have some fun. One night, they noticed that people were hanging out on their property getting drunk and partying. So they decided to crash there party by hiding in the bushes and throwing water balloons at them. Their scheme works and quickly evolves into full scale assaults on even larger drinking parties. They would put on cammo and even face paint. Then go looking for parties to ruin. Sneaking through the woods until they came to a kegger or something and then would launch a water balloon assault on them from a hidden location. Many times they were hunted down by pissed off drunk people. But amazingly, they were never caught. However, one time their van was found and vandolized.
If you put those two things together you get a buddyroe. It's a christian who believes that we can have more fun by not drinking than if you did. They do this by enjoying God's creation. Going on hikes, mountain biking, volleyball, frisbee, and much more.
And that's just what we did at buddyroe stock 2004. We hiked up a mountain to watch fireworks, enjoyed each others company, have a bon-fire, played guitar and worshiped God, and tried sqweezing as many people as possible, one at a time, down this narrow hole/passageway between some rocks at the top of the mountain. And that was only Friday night. Saturday was a four hour hike in the morning and more fireworks in town, a parade, and bon-fire by this cool waterfall. Oh yeah, some of the guys went cliff diving off the waterfall at midnight. Their only light was the flashlights we brought. Sunday was more relaxed. Church in the morning, lunch in town, volleyball and frisbee, worship and a concert, dinner at the pavilion, then testimonies. It was really fun.
Ok, now the interview for mission year. I met an alumni who already went to mission year a couple years ago. She works at an inner-city mission locally. I was asked alot of questions that were more personal and directed towards finding out if I was an authentic christian and not some wierdo who faked it on the application. They wanted to see if I was really who I said I was and if I realized exactly what I was getting into. It sunk in during the interview that I was going to be stretched in every way and in every part of my life. We live in some sort of poverty much like the people we minister to. We attend a local church in the community. But it may not be what we are comfortable with. Our community may be completely african american or latino. Therefore, every part of the culture is different, even the church services. The interview was needed. I'm more aware of what is ahead and even more excited.
Pray for me.
