I'm tired. Ater the homeless census I slept from 6am to 11am on wednesday. It was enough to get through yesturday. But I'm still tired. Even after a full night's sleep last night. The census went ok. It was raining and remarkably foggy the whole night. It made it difficult to see homeless people. Imagine driving in the rain throughout the night. You get to go home when you make it through your "zones" by finishing a count of all the homeless people you find. But you can only see 15-20 feet in front of you...and you have to cover about a 5 mile radius. It was interesting to drive through our neighborhood at night though. It doesn't happen much. It suprising how many people we did see, besides the homeless. You might wonder how can you tell if someone is homeless? Well, we had a formerly homeless person in each car. They would tell us what to look for. For example, we were told you can tell if someone's homeless or not by looking at their shoes. Our formerly homeless person said he could also tell if they were a drug dealer by their shoes...And to think, mom always told me I should look up when I walk!
