....Yeah, so that was an interesting experience. I had to wait another 10 minutes to use a computer. I wanted to log back in but right then but someone reserved the same station I was at.
Anyway, things are going well in Atlanta. My team and I are doing well. Everyone seems willing to work on our differences. I want to be more accoutable with my team leader. Unfortunately, it's difficult to share certain things with someone of the opposite sex. But I really don't have to worry about it because Mission Year thinks of almost everything. We all have our own accountability partner. My accountability partner's name is Mark. He's from New Zealand. You call tell by the accent, and the fact that he says, "Hi, I'm Mock, and I'm from New Zealand." We like picking on him. One of my teammates is Meghan. And Mark always calls her "Meegan". We point out little thinge that we think are funny. He thinks it's fun. Because he picks on alot of our stupid english words.
I've met some nice people in our neighborhood. I'm going to try and remember there names: Mr. and Mrs. Haygood, Mr. and Mrs. Springs, JC, Robert, Miss Grice, Mike, DJ, Jameel, Quartez, Piere, Cornelious, and some other kids. I'm starting to develop some relationships with people. Hopefully they will become close friendships. We've got ten months left. There's plenty of time.
My volunteering consists of working for a community development office from 9am-2:30pm, Tues.-Thurs.. I will be building relationships with churches and other organizations on the community that can help support the redevelopment of South Atlanta. From 2:30-5:30pm, Tues.-Thurs. I am volunteering at an after school program for K-6 graders at the Bethlehem Senior Center a couple of blocks away from my home. Fridays are devoted to working with the Community Design Center. It's basically an engineering firm that helps non-profits design their buildings. I will be doing computer drafting for them. The same thing I was doing at my old job.
I need lunch. I'm heading out for a bite. Hate to cut this short but I have an appointment to get to. I hope you and God are doing well. Tell Him I said hi. Peace...Zone 3, baby!!!
